Edit: our database software upgrade was completed successfully on 12 April 2020, in under 20 minutes.
BizHosting are scheduling a software upgrade of the MySQL database software that supports many of the software packages we offer. Examples of these are WordPress, Drupal, and Magento eCommerce).
It is scheduled for this weekend, 11-12 April 2020. We expect that there will be much lower business usage over the Easter long weekend. If we can’t start the procedure, we will reschedule the upgrade to the weekend of 25-26 April (ANZAC weekend).
We will take a full server backup immediately before the process is started. In the unlikely event that the upgrade is unsuccessful and we have to restore from the full server backup, there is a possibility that any emails received during the upgrade period may not be recoverable.
For your own peace of mind, we also recommend that you check your own backup procedures.
